Meriaura Group has donated the yearly ‘Christmas charity funds’ again to Team Rynkeby – God Morgon Turku team for helping children with cancer. This year we have a special reason to participate: our Project Coordinator Minna Suuronen is a member of the team and she will be cycling 1300 kilometres to Paris with the team in June 2019. Because of this we also upgraded our sponsorship to a gold sponsor.
Meriaura Group’s Project Coordinator Minna’s daughter has survived cancer, and this tragedy her family faced a few years ago has touched our entire work community at Meriaura Group.
Team Rynkeby – God Morgon is a Nordic charity cycling team that cycles every summer to Paris to raise money for children with cancer. Rynkeby Foods A/S and God Morgon cover all the project’s primary costs, which means that the money Team Rynkeby raises in each country is donated directly to local organisations that help children with critical illnesses. In 2017 Team Rynkeby donated 8.8 million euros to organizations that help children with cancer. The money is used for research and supporting the families struggling with illness. The tradition started in 2002 by 11 amateurs. Today’s Team Rynkeby comprises 2100 cyclists and 450 volunteers, divided into 48 local teams in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Germany. Besides preparing and practicing for the cycling, the participants are obliged to do their best to raise money to be donated for children with cancer.
