SHIP AGENT (summer job)

If you said ”yes” then read further, because we are looking for a new member to our small but awesome Agency team in the port of Hamina, Finland!

WHAT DOES A PORT AGENT DO?
A ship agent is the spider in the web between Ship owners, Charterers, Terminals, Port Authorities and the Ship, always ensuring that the vessel’s port visit is as effective and smooth as possible. The agent arranges all necessary activities in relation to a port call: pilots, linesmen, pre-arrival notifications to Portnet and possible AREX notifications. Beyond the operative tasks there is an often a big list of requirements from either the Ship Owners or the Clients that includes co-ordination of ship’s stores and spare parts as well as crew changes, crew medical visits, and service technicians etc.

EXPERIENCE WE VALUE:
·         experience in maritime and shipping, International logistics and forwarding
·         fluent Finnish and English is mandatory, Russian language is a big plus!
·         knowledge in Office and good computer skills
·         experience in working in a International environment

QUALITIES WE VALUE:
·         good communication and people skills
·         ability to work well in a team
·         stress tolerance, the tempo can be quite high sometimes!
·         ability to multi-task and keep many irons hot at the same time
·         good sense of humour (is very much needed to keep the spirit high)

Your work would start in beginning March 2020 with a one month traning period and continue to beginning of September 2020. In this position duty weeks are required.
