Meriaura has performed a sea transport of offshore template structures for Subsea7 using the company\u2019s CO2<\/sub> emissions reducing Eco Voy-transport concept. Templets are a part of the Skarv Satellites project for Aker BP. Meriaura\u2019s deck cargo carrier M\/V Meri performed the voyage from Gdansk, Poland to Sandnessjoen, Norway, using a 50% fuel mixture of MGO and biofuel, which halved the CO2<\/sub> emissions of the transport compared to the emissions when using only fossil fuels.<\/p>\n

The EcoVoy-concept relies on Meriaura\u2019s vessels that are compatible with biofuel. When using 100% the company\u2019s in-house produced, waste-based biofuel, transports\u2019 lifecycle emissions are 97,7% lower than with fossil fuels. By opting to use Ecovoy, Subsea 7 were able to save 93,36 tons of CO2<\/sub> emissions compared to the alternative of using fossil fuels. The EcoVoy concept is audited by KPMG according to the ISAE3000 standard, which verifies the balance between the emission savings sold to customers and the use of biofuel. The biofuel Meriaura uses, VG Marine EcoFuel is produced by Meriaura\u2019s fully owned subsidiary. The production is ISCC certified, and the commodities of the fuel are entirely derived from industrial side streams and recycled materials, sourced in the Nordic Region.<\/p>\n
